Annual Santa Brings a Lawsuit

During this annual clothing drive, RCBA collects business suits and other
professional apparel for men and women who are looking for work. The clothing
donated will be distributed to non-profit organizations in the Twin Cities.
Please bring clean, neatly folded and hung donations to the Ramsey County
District Courthouse's Memorial Hall. Volunteers will be present to accept
donations and issue receipts for tax purposes. For more information,

County Bar Foundation Law Student Scholarship
In the spring of 2014, the Ramsey County Bar Foundation will award up
to $6,000 in a scholarship to a law student who:
• currently attends a Minnesota law school,
• is a member of a group traditionally under-represented in the
legal profession (including race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or
• contributes meaningfully to diversity in his or her community,
• has a record of academic or professional achievement, and
• displays leadership qualities through past work experience, community
involvement or student activities.
Ramsey County Bar Association Diversity Committee will review applications
and make a recommendation to the foundation. The scholarship will be presented
at the association’s Annual Meeting on May 15, 2014. Interested
applicants should submit a letter of interest, along with a resume, by
February 15, 2014, to Cheryl Dalby at firstname.lastname@example.org.

RCBA Diversity Committee is now accepting nominations for the 2014 Excellence
in Diversity Award. The award is intended to recognize substantial and
long-term contributions to the furtherance of diversity and inclusion,
civil rights, civil liberties, or human rights.

Appellate Court Judge at a local restaurant.

Cost: $10 (does not include cost of dinner)
Restaurant information will be communicated upon registration.
Participants order from the menu and pay for their own dinner. Attorneys
may not have a case pending in front of the judge or on appeal from the
Judge at the time of the dinner. Pre-registration is required and is limited
to 8 participants (RCBA members) per dinner.
County Bar Foundation Donates Half of Benefit Proceeds to Local Volunteer
Ramsey County Bar Foundation presented Southern Minnesota Regional Legal
Services (SMRLS) with a check for more than $28,000 at SMRLS’ Fall
Appreciation Luncheon Celebration held on Tuesday, November 26. Each year
the Ramsey County Bar Association holds the Bench & Bar Benefit, which
raises funds for the Foundation. This year, the Benefit raised over $57,000.
Traditionally, the RCBF donates half of the Benefit’s proceeds to
SMRLS to assist in its administration of volunteer attorney programs in
Ramsey County. A press release is available here.

site. The PSA features RCBA members, Michael Fondungallah,
Alberto Quintela, Mike Bradley and Cassandra Fortin. Special thanks to
